Gukesh, the reigning World Junior Champion, secured third place in the Norway Chess Tournament. Chithambaram claimed victory at the Stepan Avagyan Memorial Chess Tournament, propelling him into the top 10 of the FIDE world rankings. Praggnanandhaa achieved second place in the same tournament. The Tamil Nadu government supports Gukesh and Praggnanandhaa through its Elite Scheme, providing financial grants to enhance their skills. This recognition highlights the state’s commitment to sports development.
