T20 International: Zimbabwe elects to bat, India fields unchanged eleven

At the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, the second women's T20 between India and Zimbabwe commenced with Zimbabwe winning the toss and electing to bat. Captain Josephine Nkomo stated that the team aims to keep the strike rotating and set a challenging total, relying on the same eleven that played in the first encounter.

India's skipper Smriti Mandhana, after losing the toss, voiced her preference to bowl first but accepted the decision. She emphasized that the Indian side will retain the exact lineup from the opening match, hoping the players will learn from the earlier batting setback of 19/4.

The debut T20 saw India chase down Zimbabwe's 114 with six wickets in hand, propelled by Deepti Sharma's aggressive 49 and Niki Prasad's unbeaten 39. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe's Sharn Meyers contributed an unbeaten 43 in the first game, and Kelis Nadhhlovu added 42 runs.

Bowling highlights featured India's Nandini Sharma, who gave away only 11 runs while claiming two wickets, and Zimbabwe's Nyasha Gwanzura, who took three wickets to restrict India's early momentum.

Both teams have announced identical playing elevens for today’s match, underscoring a strategic focus on stability and execution.
