Steve Smith Forced to Leave WTC Final Due to Finger Injury

During Day 3 of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final at Lord's in London, Australian batter Steve Smith sustained a finger injury while fielding against South Africa. In the 20th over of South Africa's second innings, Smith attempted to catch a shot from Temba Bavuma but dropped the catch and injured his finger in the process. Sam Konstas replaced Smith as a substitute fielder. South Africa requires 282 runs to win. At the tea break on Day 3, South Africa was 94/2.
