Avinash Sobale, who clinched gold in the men’s 3000‑metre steeplechase at the 2023 Asian Games, made a comeback in the recent domestic meet after a period of rehabilitation. Speaking to the press, he highlighted that his recovery phase has concluded and the race at the JLN Stadium marked his first competitive performance back. Sobale expressed optimism that his form will improve and that the Indian squad will finish the 2026 Games stronger than before.
