Rohit Yadav stole the show in men’s javelin, launching 82.17 meters to fend off challengers Sachin Yadav (81.95m) and Yashvir Singh (81.61m), solidifying his position as a national powerhouse.
Speedster Animesh Kujur, fresh off an Asian Championships medal, blazed the 100m track in 10.28 seconds and followed with a 200m win in 20.74 seconds. Tajinderpal Singh Toor, the two-time Asian Games shot put king, registered his best throw of the season at 21.03 meters. Pooja’s 1.90m clearance in high jump marked a breakthrough personal record.
Under the floodlights, the stadium buzzed as field event specialists showcased precision and power. Endurance runners like Anu Kumar (800m, 1:49.87) and Shailesh Kushwaha (10,000m, 30:01.08) delivered consistent paces. Hurdler Muhammad Lazan clocked 14.23 seconds in 110m hurdles, while under-20 star Kiran K flew over barriers in 13.80 seconds.
Long jump saw Mohammad Atta Sajid soar to 7.86 meters, discus thrower Abhimanyu hit 56.75 meters, and shot put remained Toor’s domain. On the women’s side, Nitya Gandhe edged out rivals in 100m (11.59s), Priyanka Sikarwar dominated 200m (23.91s), and Rashdeep Kaur powered through 400m in 53.10 seconds.
Throwing events sparkled with Tanya Chaudhary’s hammer throw of 61.29 meters, Seema’s discus at 59.55 meters, and Shilpa Rani’s javelin spear of 54.29 meters. Niharika Vashishth triple jumped 13.41 meters, Shaily Singh long jumped 6.24 meters, and Pooja’s high jump capped the highlights.
