Ramesh Tharanga of Sri Lanka secured the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw at the 2026 Asian Games, delivering an 88.55‑metre performance in his final attempt. His winning series began with a 73.53‑metre opening throw, followed by an 83.34‑metre effort, a foul, and a breakthrough 88.33‑metre throw that put him in the lead. A subsequent foul on his fifth attempt did not deter him, and he sealed the victory with the 88.55‑metre mark. The competition, held in Nagoya’s Mizuhō Park Athletic Stadium, also saw India’s Yashveer Singh take silver with 85.72 metres and Rohit Yadav claim bronze with 84.35 metres.
