Sports Minister and Uttar Pradesh CM Congratulate Indian Archers for Gold Triumph

Following the historic gold medal win by India’s women’s recurve team at the Asian Games 2026, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya took to social media to hail the trio’s “memorable performance and a proud moment for the nation.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed his admiration, describing the victory as a “golden breakthrough” for Indian archery. He highlighted the 5‑3 win over a strong South Korean side, noting that the result writes a new chapter in the sport’s history.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju joined the chorus of commendations, calling the achievement “a historic moment for Indian women’s recurve archery” and praising the athletes for setting a benchmark for future generations.

The three archers—Ankita Bhakt, Kumkum Anil Mohod and Kirti—had earlier dispatched China 5‑1 in the semi‑finals, securing a place in the final for the first time. Their gold medal adds to India’s growing tally and signals a rising competitive edge in continental archery.
