Smith, the best Test batsman of the decade, did not agree to Ravichandran Ashwin

Steve Smith is included in the best batsmen of this round. He dominates the opposition team. Recently he has been voted the best Test batsman of the ICC decade. However, Smith’s bat has been resented in the current Test series against India. Indian bowlers have not given Smith a chance to play openly in this series. In particular, Ravichandran Ashwin has troubled him a lot.

Smith was not part of the Australian team in the previous tour of India. India had named it in the Test series 2-1 in 2018. Although this time when Smith and Warner were associated with the team, Australia was considered very strong but Smith has so far scored only 10 runs in four innings. He has become a victim of Ashwin twice. Australia team management would like Smith to return to his best form. After the 8-wicket defeat in Melbourne, the team management will surely expect a great performance from their best batsman.

Talking about his rivalry with Ashwin, Smith regretted not scoring runs in the series yet. He also believed that Ashwin has been heavy on him in the series.

Smith said in a conversation with SEN Radio, ‘I didn’t play Ashwin as well as I should have. I probably should have pressured them more. ‘

Smith said, “I have given Ashwin a chance to dominate and I probably did not let any other spinner in my career. I should play more aggressively so that they change their strategy. ‘

Smith went on to say, ‘It’s kind of like a two-edged sword, but I think I have to do it with confidence and play my natural game.’

Smith said, “At the moment I am thinking of spending more time on the field. This is very important for me. When I look at this year, I have been on the field for at most 64 balls, that too during those ODIs. ‘

Ashwin was also asked about the importance of Smith’s wicket. On this, this off-spinner had said that India had prepared a plan for this. Ashwin expressed happiness that the team was able to implement its plan.

He said in a conversation with Channel 7, ‘If you can’t get Steve Smith out after coming to Australia, then it can be very difficult for you. He keeps the batting order intact.
