In a recent match, Ravichandran played his most significant innings of the current season, scoring an unbeaten 89 runs off 52 balls. This impressive display not only secured a victory for his team, Gulbarga Mystics, but also saw him break four league records.
In the match between Gulbarga Mystics and Bengaluru Blasters, Bengaluru Blasters batted first, scoring 164 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Gulbarga Mystics chased down the target of 165 with 4 wickets in hand, achieving victory with four balls to spare.
The highlight of the match was undoubtedly Smaran Ravichandran’s explosive batting. His unbeaten 89 runs included 5 sixes and 8 fours, with a strike rate exceeding 171. This performance propelled Gulbarga Mystics to victory against Bengaluru Blasters and earned him a place in the record books. Ravichandran now leads the Maharaja T20 League in total runs scored with 391 runs in 8 innings across 9 matches. He has also hit the most sixes, with 25 to his name. Furthermore, his batting average of 97.75 is the highest in the current season, and he has the most fifty-plus scores with 5.
Interestingly, Ravichandran was also a replacement player for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, brought in by Kavya Maran as a replacement for Adam Zampa. However, he was unfortunately ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to an injury sustained during fielding practice, with Harsh Dubey replacing him.
