Siraat Kang Holds Sixth Spot After Opening Round in Selangor

Panchkula’s 19‑year‑old Siraat Kang recorded a two‑over‑74 at the Glenmary Golf & Country Club, securing sixth place in the first round of the Malaysia Ladies Amateur Open. Her round was free of major setbacks, and she remains atop the IGU Ladies Order of Merit, just ahead of Sandhu.

Kang’s 2025‑26 season has been impressive: she competed in twenty tournaments, earned twelve top‑10 finishes, and captured the title at the Greens to Glory Junior Masters Championship last year. This strong showing in Malaysia adds to her growing résumé and strengthens India’s bid for a higher team standing.

The event features 54 golfers from eleven countries, and the final individual champion will emerge after 54 holes of competitive play.
