Shaili Singh finishes fourth as India adds another long jump medal

India’s Shaili Singh remained in the medal hunt throughout the competition but ultimately finished just outside the podium in fourth place.

She began with a 6.25‑metre jump, improving to 6.34 metres on her second try and matching that distance on the third.

In the fourth round, a 6.41‑metre effort lifted her to third place, but she could not hold the position.

A final jump of 6.42 metres in the fifth round was overtaken by China’s Mengyi Tan, who posted 6.46 metres.

Singh’s consistent performance kept her among the top eight, and her fourth‑place finish contributes to India’s strong showing in the event.
