Series Dedicated to Flood Victims Highlights Bangladesh‑Nepal Cricket Ties
Bangladesh’s men’s cricket contingent will embark on a tour of Nepal in March 2027, where they will contest three T20 internationals on 26, 28 and 30 March in Kathmandu. The series has been officially dedicated to the families and communities impacted by the recent devastating floods in Nepal.
The announcement came from the Bangladesh Cricket Board, which underscored the humanitarian angle of the tour. In a related diplomatic exchange, Nepal’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, visited the BCB and met President Tamim Iqbal to discuss not only the upcoming fixtures but also broader sporting cooperation.
The talks followed a meeting with State Minister MD Aminul Haq, indicating a coordinated effort from both governments to use cricket as a bridge for cultural and social solidarity. BCB officials said the matches will convey a powerful message of friendship and resilience, reinforcing ties even as both nations recover from natural disasters.
Bangladesh’s past encounters with Nepal in the T20 format have been limited to two World Cup games. The first, on 18 March 2014, resulted in an eight‑wicket win for Bangladesh, while the second, on 16 June 2024, saw a 21‑run triumph for the Bangladeshi side.
