Satnam Singh and Salman Khan Grab Bronze in Men’s Double Sculls

The Asian Games rowing final saw India’s Satnam Singh and Salman Khan take home the bronze medal in the men’s double sculls, posting a time of 6:13.25. Their performance trailed China’s gold‑winning crew of Ju Di Yi and Yi De Ni (6:09.77) and Uzbekistan’s silver‑winning pair Pavel Sorin and Mehkruzbek Mamatkulov (6:10.49).

India was positioned third after the first 1,000 metres, then briefly moved to second place before the Chinese boat surged ahead in the final 500 metres. The Indian pair held on for the third spot, adding to the nation’s rowing medal tally.

This medal is Satnam Singh’s second at the Asian Games, following a bronze in the quadruple sculls in Hangzhou 2023. Salman Khan, from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, is part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme and has received elite training and sports‑science support, leading to his rapid rise and a recent promotion to Naib Subedar in the Indian Army.
