Saikia Joins ICC Franchise League Committee Ahead of Edinburgh Conference
In addition to his governance role, Devajit Saikia has been named a member of the ICC Franchise League Committee. The committee, chaired by Bangladesh Cricket Board President Tamim Iqbal, brings together representatives from Bangladesh, Namibia, England and Wales, Cricket Australia, and BCCI.
The body will focus on expanding the franchise cricket model, overseeing league standards, and ensuring that commercial growth aligns with the sport’s traditional values. Saikia’s input is expected to bridge the interests of the Indian market with the broader strategic objectives of the ICC.
Manhas applauded the dual appointment, noting that Saikia’s insight into both governance and commercial aspects positions him uniquely to contribute to the ICC’s evolving structure.
