Roshibini Devi’s Consistent Asian Games Performance Yields Third Medal

Roshibini Devi continued her steady ascent at the Asian Games 2026 in Nagoya, adding a second silver to her collection in the women’s 60 kg Sanshou category. After dispatching Macau’s Chu Man Sin 5‑0 in the quarters and overcoming Indonesia’s Thania Kusumantias 2‑0 in the semis, she faced China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the final.

Zhang dominated the bout, winning both rounds without conceding a point, which resulted in a 0‑2 defeat for Devi and a 10‑0 final score. The silver medal underscores Devi’s reliability, following a bronze at the 2018 Jakarta‑Palembang Games and a silver at the Hangzhou 2023 Games.

Earlier, a knee injury had sidelined her from the national trials, allowing Divyanshi Chaudhary to earn the slot. The Wushu Association of India later reinstated Devi after a reassessment, enabling her to compete and once again raise India’s medal tally.
