Roach joins elite Caribbean 300‑wicket club alongside Walsh and Gibb

Kemar Roach’s recent dismissal of a Sri Lankan batsman marked his 300th wicket in Test cricket, cementing his place in the elite Caribbean 300‑wicket club. The club currently includes stalwarts Curtly Walsh (519 wickets), Sir Curtly Ambrose (405), Malcolm Marshall (376) and Lance Gibbs (305). Roach is the fifth West Indian and the second player from Barbados to cross the three‑hundred mark.

The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a special recognition ceremony that will take place during the innings break of the final ODI at Kingston Oval, where the West Indies face New Zealand. Delegates from the Barbados government and the Barbados Cricket Association will join CWI officials to present Roach with a tribute.

Over a career spanning more than twenty years, Roach has featured in 89 Tests, taken 300 wickets at a respectable average of 26.83, recorded twelve five‑wicket innings and once claimed ten wickets in a match. CWI president Kishor Shailo lauded Roach’s skill, resilience and his influence on younger fast‑bowling talents throughout the Caribbean.
