Riders Fall Short of 150 as Kings Celebrate Dominant Win
The East Delhi Riders were unable to chase down a target of 180, collapsing for 149 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 18. After a shaky start that saw three wickets tumble for just 32 runs, the Riders relied on a 30‑run partnership between Sujal Singh and Arpin Rana to steady the innings.
Arpin Rana later added 25 runs with a flurry of boundaries, while a later stand with Mayank Rawat and Suryansh Raina contributed modest runs but failed to shift momentum. The Kings' bowlers, especially Gawnesh Khurana (three wickets) and Arun Pundir (two wickets), kept the pressure high.
The Kings' total of 179, built on contributions from Keshav Dubas, Jonti Soodhu, Aditya Bhandari, Money Grewal and Vansh Bedi, proved too much for the Riders. The 30‑run victory cemented the Kings' position at the summit of the DPL table and ended the Riders' hopes of a title challenge.
