Richa Ghosh highlights smooth logistics and fan support for India at Asian Games in Japan

India’s women’s cricket team has settled into the Japanese environment without any logistical setbacks, according to wicket‑keeper‑batter Richa Ghosh. After beating Japan and booking a semi‑final berth at the Asian Games 2026, Ghosh told IANS that the squad feels comfortable in the host nation.

"So far we have not faced any problem. It’s a new experience meeting players from other sports and having matches at the same venue," she said. "The Asian Games format lets us interact with athletes from different disciplines, which is a great advantage."

She praised the Indian fan base that traveled to Japan, noting their unwavering support. "They come everywhere to back us. I salute them; their encouragement feels amazing," Ghosh added.

Describing her first visit to Japan, Ghosh mentioned enjoyable weather and a brief rain spell before the game, but no rain interruption during the match. "I’m enjoying the climate and plan to sight‑see in Japan after the tournament," she said.

With a semi‑final clash against Bangladesh on the horizon, Ghosh reflected on the team's prior Asia Cup experience. "We know our strengths and will rely on them. We are concentrating on preparing for the match day, not on who we will face," she affirmed.
