East Zone’s batsmen rewrote the record books in the Dalip Trophy final, amassing a staggering 708 runs in the first innings – the highest total ever recorded in the tournament’s history. The monumental score was built around captain Ishaan Kishan’s unbeaten 270, a marathon effort that included 30 fours and seven sixes.

Kumar Kushagra supported the chase with a swift century, while Shikhar Mohan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and Abhimanyu Ishwaran each contributed valuable runs. The bowlers then dismissed South Zone for 336, with Mukesh Kumar taking three wickets and the rest sharing the haul.

The second innings saw East Zone add another 388 runs before the match was declared a draw, thanks to Kishan’s additional 80 and Mohammed Kaunen Qureshi’s unbeaten 116. The comprehensive performance handed the side its third Dalip Trophy, ending a 13‑year wait since their last triumph in 2012‑13.
