Rashid Khan Eyes 200 T20I Wickets Against Zimbabwe

New Delhi, October 28: Afghanistan's star leg-spinner Rashid Khan is poised to make cricket history. He is just one wicket short of a milestone that no other bowler has reached in international T20 cricket, and the spotlight will be on him in the second T20 against Zimbabwe on Thursday.

The celebrated spinner has 199 wickets from 119 T20 internationals. Taking one more wicket would make him the first bowler in the world to reach 200 wickets in the format. Such a feat would cement his position as one of the most successful bowlers in the history of the shortest format.

Rashid has been in excellent touch leading up to the match. In the first T20 against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, he delivered 2 wickets in four overs while conceding 20 runs. His batting was equally impressive, as he struck 30 runs in just 10 balls to guide his team to victory. His contribution earned him the Player of the Match award.

The list of the top five wicket-takers in international T20 cricket underlines his dominance. Rashid leads with 199 wickets in 119 matches, followed by England's Adil Rashid with 171 wickets in 153 matches. Hong Kong's Ehsan Khan has 165 wickets in 119 matches, while New Zealand's Ish Sodhi and Tim Southee have 165 and 164 wickets in 142 and 126 matches respectively.

Rashid's record extends to overall T20 cricket as well. Across league and international cricket, he has 740 wickets from 550 matches, which places him at the top of the global list.

India's Arshdeep Singh is the country's most successful T20 international wicket-taker, with 149 wickets from 102 matches. He has the chance to reach 150 international wickets in the fourth T20 against New Zealand on Friday.
