Ranji Trophy 2026-27: Big Scores and Washed-Out Days Lead to 8 Draws

Eight Ranji Trophy Elite matches were drawn on Thursday, 29 October, in the 2026-27 season. Rain was the deciding factor in two of them. The round featured several large totals, but none of the eight contests produced a winner.

Odisha and Services Share a Rain-Affected Game

The Elite Group C match at the KIIT Stadium in Bhubaneswar saw Odisha fall for 194 in the first innings. Pulkit Nagar's figures of 6 for 47 were the highlight of the bowling. Services scored 40 without loss in their 12 overs before the rain ended play.

Delhi Declare at 515 in Ranchi

At the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, Delhi declared at 515 for 5 after a stand of unbeaten centuries by Ayush Badoni (210) and Sumit Mathur (150). Jharkhand, who faced 47 overs, were 131 for 4 when the match was stopped and drawn.

Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh Produce a High-Scoring Draw

Chandigarh declared at 685 for 5 at the Sector-16 Stadium, with Nehal Pajni (222) and Arjun Azad (147) batting well. Himachal Pradesh replied with 559 for 6 off 177 overs. Inesh Mahajan (121) and Akash Vashisht (126 not out) both recorded centuries.

Uttarakhand Cannot Chase at Dehradun

Rajasthan were bowled out for 272 at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, with Devendra Bora claiming 6 wickets. Uttarakhand were dismissed for 194. Rajasthan's second innings ended at 290 for 5 when Karan Lamba finished unbeaten on 100, leaving Uttarakhand a target of 369. They managed 38 without loss in 9 overs, and the match was drawn.

Baroda's Huge First Innings Leads to Draw

The Reliance Stadium in Vadodara hosted the Elite Group A match in which Baroda made 616. Priyanshu Molia's unbeaten 321 was the centrepiece, and Mahesh Pithiya added 102. Jammu and Kashmir were all out for 303, followed on, and reached 316 for 6 before the game was called off as a draw.

Maharashtra, Punjab and Puducherry Also Draw

In Pune, Maharashtra's 330 answered Gujarat's 223, and Gujarat declared at 446 for 5 thanks to Arya Desai's 151 and Jaymeet Patel's unbeaten 119. Maharashtra finished on 141 for 4 in 47 overs. In Hyderabad, Punjab's 431, led by Saleel Arora's 151, was followed by Hyderabad's 380. Punjab declared at 240 for 6, and the match was drawn. In Puducherry, Uttar Pradesh's 333 was met with 172 from the hosts, who then followed on and reached 211 for 8 in 98 overs.

The eight draws reflect a round where big batting performances were common, but neither rain nor time allowed for a result.
