Raiza Dhillon credits preparation as India secures skeet bronze

In a closely contested final at the Asian Games 2026, India’s women’s skeet team earned a bronze medal, with Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz and Maheshwari Chauhan hitting a total of 331. The achievement reflects months of intensive training under the guidance of the Sports Authority of India.

Dhillon said the medal was a direct result of strategic planning, regular practice sessions, and exposure to international competition. “We went into Nagoya confident because our preparation program left no gaps,” she said.

When a brief rain spell interrupted the shooting series, the athletes remained composed, drawing on previous experiences in wet conditions. Dhillon noted that she has often competed under similar circumstances, so the rain did not disrupt her rhythm.

Looking forward, Dhillon expressed belief that the Indian contingent will continue to add to the medal tally in upcoming shooting events. She dedicated the bronze to her supporters, the coaching staff, and the federation that arranged elite camps and foreign coaches.

Maheshwari Chauhan added that the weather played a pivotal role in skeet shooting, and she welcomed the rain for its effect on target visibility. Both shooters applauded the federation’s logistical support, including the July‑onward training camp and regular domestic meets that sharpened their competitive edge.
