Rain‑Shortened Semi at Asian Games Leaves Bangladesh Short of Gold Ambitions

Heavy showers forced officials to truncate the men’s cricket semi‑final from the scheduled 20 overs to just 13. Bangladesh, having lost the toss, were forced to bat first and managed 111 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Pakistan chased down the target in 11.3 overs, losing four wickets, and secured a place in the final against India. Das lamented that the sudden change in overs compounded the lack of preparation, making it harder for his side to settle onto the wet surface. He vowed that Bangladesh will regroup and aim for the bronze medal against Sri Lanka while planning a stronger road to future gold medals.
