Quarterfinal Victory Over Tajikistan's Salimov Guarantees Medal

In a decisive quarter‑final bout at the Nishio Gymnasium, Ankush Pangal out‑classed Tajikistan’s Nekruz Salimov with a unanimous verdict in each of the first two rounds. The Indian boxer’s quick right hooks and powerful left hooks kept Salimov on the defensive. Although Salimov managed to take the third round 4‑1, the overall score ensured Pangal a spot in the semi‑final and locked in a medal for India in the 80kg boxing category.
