Preview of India’s 24-Man Blind Cricket Line‑up for 2026 Asia Cup

Bengaluru, 12 September – The Cricket Association for the Blind in India announced a provisional roster of 24 players ahead of the Men’s Blind Cricket Asia Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in Dhaka. This edition marks the tournament’s comeback after ten years, and India seeks to repeat the success it achieved in 2016.

The shortlisted athletes will report to a centralized training camp where they will undergo skill‑specific drills, strength and conditioning programs, tactical sessions and practice games. Following the camp, the governing body will trim the list down to a final 17‑man squad.

Officials will scrutinise each player's recent performances, fitness metrics, technical proficiencies and the overall composition needed for a balanced side. The CABI chairman highlighted the significance of the tournament for the blind cricket fraternity, calling it a “special moment.”

India’s historic win in 2016 came after a hard‑fought final against Pakistan in Kochi. The upcoming competition offers an opportunity to demonstrate the depth of talent in Indian blind cricket and to defend the title.

The provisional list includes Nareesh Tumda, Sanjay Kumar Shah, Debraj Behera, Ashok Reddy, Praveen Kumar Sharma, Mukesh Kumar Rawat, Sayanth K B, Golu Kumar, Dunna Venkateshwar Rao, Rambir Singh, Lokesh, Manish Kumar, Nakul Badnayak, Deepak Singh Rawat, Snehit S Kumar, Irfan Devan, Bhaskar K, Durga Rao Tompaki, Sunil Ramesh, Sukhram Majhi, E Ravi, Dinesh Rathwa, Deepak and Gamage S Chauhan.
