Pakistan Clinch Tri-Series Crown as Fakhar Zaman Hits Ton

Pakistan won the tri-series title after a dominant finish at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with Fakhar Zaman leading the charge with a hundred against Sri Lanka. The final was played on Saturday, and Pakistan completed a three-wicket win while chasing 326.

The match looked difficult for the hosts when they slipped to 14 for 2. Fakhar, however, joined forces with Saad Baig, and their third-wicket partnership of 149 runs turned the contest. Saad hit 74 off 75 balls with 11 fours, providing able support as Fakhar took control of the innings.

Fakhar's knock of 127 came from 99 balls and featured six sixes and 11 fours. It was his 12th century in ODI cricket and earned him the Player of the Match honour in a high-scoring final.

In his presentation remarks, Fakhar admitted that his recent scores had not been up to his standards. He said he was determined to perform in the final and had trusted his preparation. He also spoke about the unpredictable nature of cricket, where form and results do not always move in the same direction.

Fakhar credited Saad Baig for batting in a way that allowed him to settle in. He said Saad's quick scoring eased the pressure and that his partner's innings deserved special recognition. He added that Saad's approach showed maturity and talent.

Despite the scale of the target and the pressure of a final, Fakhar said he felt ready because he had been working towards a big innings. He stressed that the runs came through a mix of skill and fortune. Arafat Minhas also made an important contribution, smashing 61 off 31 balls to finish the chase for Pakistan.
