Old Delhi Crumbles as Central Delhi Posts 218, Jonti Sidhus Shines with Bat and Ball

Central Delhi Kings posted a formidable 218‑run total in DPL 2026 Qualifier‑2, crushing Old Delhi‑6 by 72 runs and booking a berth in the season finale.

The Kings elected to bat first after the toss. Captain Jonti Sidhus delivered a spectacular unbeaten 106 from 46 balls, cancelling ten sixes and five fours. He was backed by Samarth Singh’s 25, Aditya Bhandari’s 24 and Siddharth June’s 20, while the side lost just five wickets.

Old Delhi’s bowlers – Pankaj Jaswal (2/??), Rajneesh Dadar, Uddhav Mohan and Dev Lakra – were unable to stem the on‑side aggression.

When Old Delhi‑6 began their chase, they faltered rapidly, standing at 146 runs for eight wickets in the 17.4th over. Standout innings came from Samarth Seth (45 off 28 balls), Dhananjay Singh (34 off 21 balls) and Rajneesh Dadar (25 off 10 balls); the remaining batsmen fell cheaply.

Sidhus added value with the ball, claiming three wickets in three overs for 25 runs. He was supported by Tejas Baroka (2/19), Gawanish Khurana (2/32), Moni Grewal (2/27) and Aatre Tripathi (1/9).

The final will be contested between Central Delhi Kings and South Delhi Superstars on August 30 at 8 pm.
