No Hard Feelings Over Ronaldo Dispute, Portugal Coach States

Lisbon, 5 Oct – Portugal’s head coach George Jesus told reporters there is no lingering animosity after the recent disagreement with Cristiano Ronaldo concerning his role as captain. Jesus said the misunderstanding has been cleared up and that the national team remains eager to include Ronaldo if he chooses to stay.

The manager pointed out that the upcoming Nations League quarter‑final against Norway will be the first test of the squad’s new dynamics. He reminded everyone that Ronaldo must decide on his future before the next official list is released, but reiterated that the invitation stands without conditions.

Ronaldo left the training camp earlier this week, promising to reveal the true reasons for his departure at a later date. In the previous match against Wales, he helped secure a 1‑0 win, yet for the Norway game he was a bench option who was never brought on, marking a rare moment for the seasoned striker.
