Indian squad tweaks: Nitesh Reddy replaces Pandya for West Indies series

Gautam Gahri announced that fast‑bowling all‑rounder Nitesh Reddy will replace Hardik Pandya in the Indian squad for the upcoming One Day International series against West Indies. Reddy missed the Ireland, England and Zimbabwe series due to a niggling injury but has bounced back strongly, taking six wickets in three matches during the Afghanistan series.

Reddy’s recent performances, including a 3‑3 spell in the latter two T20s, have made him the leading wicket‑taker for India in that series. The coach praised Reddy’s ability to contribute with both ball and bat, describing him as a valuable "plus point" for the side.

The shift also means Nitesh will get more exposure ahead of the 2027 World Cup, while Pandya continues his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
