New Facility Aims to Nurture Young Boxing Talent in Assam

With the approval of the Lovlina Borgohain Boxing Academy, Assam is set to expand its sports infrastructure significantly. Planned amenities include a regulation‑size ring, weight‑training zones, physiotherapy suites, and classrooms for tactical study.

The academy is expected to operate under the supervision of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, bringing together seasoned trainers and former champions to mentor the next generation. Young athletes from across the state will have access to scholarships, nutritional guidance, and competition exposure.

By focusing on holistic development, the centre aims to bridge the gap between local talent and international standards, ensuring that future boxers can compete confidently on the world stage.
