New faces James Collins and Henry Crocombe added to England’s one‑day squad
The England and Wales Cricket Board has injected fresh talent into the one‑day squad for the forthcoming triangular series in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. County performers James Collins and Henry Crocombe earn their first senior call‑up, joining a 16‑member group that also features a returning Mason Crane.
Collins, an all‑rounder known for his aggressive batting and handy seam bowling, impressed with a string of half‑centuries and three‑wicket hauls in the domestic circuit. Crocombe, a right‑arm fast bowler, earned a reputation for extracting swing on seaming tracks, making him a valuable addition to England’s pace department.
The squad also retains experienced campaigners such as captain Harry Brook, leg‑spinner Mason Crane, and seasoned all‑rounder Sam Curran. Injured players include Jos Buttler (hamstring), Jacob Bethell (knee surgery), and Bradon Cars (under investigation). Veteran pacer Jofra Archer will sit out to recover from a packed summer schedule.
England’s campaign begins on 20 October against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, following the tournament opener between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on 18 October. The final showdown will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on 31 October. The roster lists Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Tom Banton, Jordan Cox, Henry Crocombe, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Joe Root and Josh Tong alongside the newcomers.
