India’s athletes delivered a strong showing on the seventh day of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Long jumper Murali Shrikhand added a silver medal to his résumé with an 8.09m effort, echoing his 2022 achievement.
Para‑athlete Dilip Mahadu Gavit thrilled the crowd by winning gold in the 100‑metre T47 category, finishing in a rapid 10.71 seconds. The race also saw Mohammad Basil take silver with a time of 10.83 seconds.
These performances pushed India’s overall tally to 15 medals – 3 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze – and lifted the nation to eighth place in the medal standings, surpassing its previous ninth‑place position.
