Mumbai ITF M25: Karan Singh Beats Teammate to Lift Title

Karan Singh added another trophy to his growing collection on Sunday, winning the singles title at the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour M25 tournament in Mumbai. The $30,000 event was staged at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association in Cooperage, and it is the fourth title Karan has won in 2026.

Karan, the third seed, beat his academy teammate Digvijay Pratap Singh in the final. The match ended in the second set. Karan was ahead 7-5, 3-1 when Digvijay retired, which gave Karan the title.

The 23-year-old has been playing his best tennis in recent months. The Mumbai win is his second title in the last two months. In the same stretch, he has also reached four finals.

The final was contested on an outdoor hard court. The first set lasted more than an hour, and Karan secured it 7-5 after a tough battle. In the second set, he built a 3-1 advantage before Digvijay was forced to withdraw after 1 hour and 32 minutes.

Throughout the tournament, Karan did not lose a single set. He started with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Nitin Kumar Sinha in the Round of 32 and followed it with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over qualifier Aadil Kalyanpur in the Round of 16. That match took 1 hour and 38 minutes, and his serving was particularly strong.

Karan reached the semifinals after seventh seed Siddharth Rawat retired at 3-4 in the quarterfinal. He then beat Chirag Duhan 6-3, 6-2 in only 1 hour and 19 minutes. He held serve 100 percent of the time in that semifinal, a key factor in sealing his spot in the final.

Digvijay also had a standout week in Mumbai, having won the ITF M15 title in Baku earlier this month. He defeated second seed Garrett Johns 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinal, which guaranteed a 1-2 finish on the podium for Roundglass Tennis Academy.
