From debut to decisive, Morgan Rogers emerges as Chelsea's versatile star
Morgan Rogers’ rise at Chelsea has been swift and striking. Since his Premier League debut against Fulham, the 22‑year‑old has already recorded goals against Arsenal, West Ham and now Bournemouth, where he added a crucial goal in a 5-1 victory.
Alonzo, the club’s head coach, described Rogers as a "very complete and modern player" who brings youth, freshness and a relentless work ethic. Over eight matches, Rogers has also contributed four assists, showcasing his ability to create as well as finish.
The Chelsea side started the Bournemouth match aggressively. Henderson opened the scoring, soon followed by Rogers’ rapid second‑minute strike. Joao Pedro’s early second‑half goal expanded the lead, and a later free‑kick from Henderson sealed the triumph.
Beyond the numbers, Alonzo emphasized Rogers’ personality: "He loves the game, gets along with everyone, and his presence lifts the whole squad." The forward’s versatility and availability have become key components of Chelsea’s tactical plans as they climb the Premier League table.
