Mohun Bagan secures narrow win over SC Delhi as capital fans turn out

A crowd of 14,971 packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to watch SC Delhi take on Mohun Bagan in the opening week of the ISL 2026-27 season. The home side took the lead early through Lalrinliana Hnamte’s 23rd‑minute strike. The visitors rallied in the second half, with Lee Ervin leveling the score at 56 minutes. Miguel Figueras then delivered the winning blow four minutes after the equaliser. Late‑stage chances for both teams, including a header from Alberto Rodriguez that rattled the cross‑bar, failed to change the outcome.
