The fourth day of the U-23 Asian Wrestling Championship in Vietnam proved to be another successful outing for Indian freestyle wrestlers. With two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes added to the tally, India's total freestyle medals now stand at six, building on the two golds secured earlier by Akshay T. Dhere and Vicky. The victories highlighted both technical superiority and mental resilience among the young Indian grapplers. Kumar Mohit dominated his 65 kg final against Kyrgyzstan's Oskonbai A. Abdisamatov, finishing with a convincing 12-4 scoreline that left little doubt about his supremacy. Chandramohan followed with a dramatic 7-6 win over Kazakhstan's Yerzhan Abil in the 79 kg category, showcasing composure under pressure. Deepak's 61 kg final against Nurdanat Aitanov ended in a 4-4 tie, yet the Kazakh wrestler was awarded the gold, leaving the Indian with silver. In the 74 kg bracket, Deepak secured bronze with a dominant 10-0 victory over Turkmenistan's Vatan Annairajov. Sachin Mor added another bronze in the 86 kg division by defeating Boburbek Ruzimboyev 4-1. Kumar Puneet and Lucky claimed silver medals in the 92 kg and 125 kg categories respectively after narrow losses in their championship bouts. Commenting on the results, Wrestling Federation of India chief Sanjay Singh highlighted the squad's strong showing over the past two days. He expressed satisfaction with four golds, two silvers, and two bronzes so far and thanked the athletes and coaches for their commitment, while remaining hopeful for more medals before the event ends.
