Mizoram’s Growing Hockey and Football Infrastructure Highlighted by Minister

Mizoram is advancing its sports infrastructure under the Khelo India programme. At the SAI training centre, a synthetic hockey turf with flood‑lighting is being installed, marking a significant step toward strengthening hockey facilities in the state. Khadse noted Mizoram’s strong potential in both football and hockey, citing the achievements of Larem Siaomi Hamrajote, the state’s first female Olympian and first Asian Games medalist, who trained at the SAI Academy in Thenzawl and has been shortlisted for the Arjuna Award 2025.
