Mithun Manhas praises India's flawless performance in 2026 Asian Games final

Srinagar, 3 October – In a post‑match interview at the Iranian Cup’s third day, BCCI president Mithun Manhas commended the Indian men’s cricket team for its immaculate display against Pakistan in the Asian Games final. The 19‑run win cemented India’s ninth‑time defense of the title.

Manhas highlighted the squad’s ability to thrive under high‑stakes conditions, a trait he said no other Indian team possesses. He thanked former General Secretary Jay Shah, attributing part of the success to Shah’s behind‑the‑scenes work for both the men’s and women’s sides, the latter having just captured a World Cup crown.

He also observed the sport’s growing global reach, mentioning the ICC chairman’s pivotal role. The president recounted the match’s turning points: a solid opening by Abhishek, Tilak’s swift scoring, Washi’s disciplined bowling spell, Akshar’s inventive play, and Bumrah’s varied arsenal, all combining for a “spectacular victory.”
