Miller says 2027 World Cup will be perfect swansong

David Miller, the veteran South African middle‑order hitter, has declared that winning the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup would be the ideal way to bow out of international cricket. The tournament will run from early October to late November 2027, taking place across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

During an interview with Geostar, Miller expressed his eagerness to chase the title in the conditions he knows well. He said his focus now is on securing a place in the squad and delivering peak performances when the opportunity arrives.

Miller praised his knack for finishing matches, calling it the aspect of his game that gives him the most satisfaction. He also reminisced about his IPL journey, naming the 2022 Gujarat Titans championship as the most memorable moment.

When prompted about innings that stand out, Miller highlighted two hundred‑plus runs made under intense pressure – a 101‑run innings versus the West Indies in the IPL and a 118‑run unbeaten effort against Australia in Durban. Both centuries, he noted, came at crucial moments and altered the direction of his career.
