Elise Mertens and Shuai Zhang have reached the women’s doubles final at the 2026 Australian Open after a clinical performance against Anna Shibahara and Vera Zvonareva. The fourth-seeded duo dominated the match on Margaret Court Arena, winning 6-3, 6-2 in under 90 minutes. After an early exchange of games, Mertens and Zhang won four straight to take control of the first set. Despite a minor hiccup while serving for the match, Zhang converted the third match point to seal the victory. They will face Anna Danilina and Jasmine Paolini in the final, who advanced after a grueling three-set win over Gabriela Dabrowski and Giuliana Olmos.
