The 2026 Uttar Pradesh T20 League saw Meerut Mavericks post 206 runs to triumph over Gorakhpur Lions by a margin of 36 runs. Central to the victory was Swastik Chikara’s aggressive 82‑run innings, crafted in just 45 balls with nine fours and four sixes. After the match, Chikara praised the impact of sharing a dressing‑room with cricket legend Virat Kohli, saying the encounter taught him to deliver his complete effort every time. "I learned from Virat to put 100 percent into training and match play," he remarked. Chikara, who earned an IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore after a stellar prior season in the UP league, was also part of the RCB side that lifted the IPL trophy in 2025.
