The top 10 West Indies players, including Jason Holder, Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran, have withdrawn from the forthcoming tour of Bangladesh over the corona virus epidemic and personal reasons. In addition to Holder, Pollard and Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Darren Bravo, Shamrah Brooks, Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell, Evin Lewis and Shai Hope have departed from the tour, while Fabian Allen and Shane Daverich have departed on their own for personal reasons.
In the absence of Holder and Pollard, Craig Brathwaite and Jason Mohammed have been named captains of rest and ODI teams respectively. The West Indies team will reach Bangladesh on 10 January. She will play three ODIs with Bangladesh on 20, 22 and 25 January. After this, Test matches will be played on February 3 and 11. Cricket West Indies said on Wednesday that the Corona policy of Cricket West Indies allows any player to opt out of a foreign tour based on his own safety concerns or concerns. Such decisions will not affect his views for future selection.
