The 75th Sunday on Cycle rally rolled through Ahmedabad streets as Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya called on citizens to pedal their way toward a fitter and more sustainable future. Joined by actor Ayushmann Khurrana, Olympic champion Gagan Narang, and state leaders, the event reinforced the Fit India Movement's message that regular physical activity builds stronger communities. Mandaviya told reporters that cycling delivers triple benefits: it keeps individuals healthy, cuts air pollution, and reduces dependence on imported fuel. He connected the initiative to India's role as host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, saying the visible energy of young participants reflects a nationwide commitment to fitness and self-reliance. The minister emphasized that a healthy society is essential for achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat, urging every citizen to integrate cycling into daily routines. Parallel celebrations took place across the country, including a Delhi event led by Education Minister Ashish Sood, who advised that 30 minutes on a bicycle each day can prevent many health issues. Olympic medalist Gagan Narang described the turnout as inspiring, noting that such large-scale participation signals a cultural shift toward wellness. Participants left the event with renewed motivation to choose bicycles over motor vehicles whenever possible, aligning personal health goals with national priorities of environmental protection and energy conservation.
