Lucy Hamilton eyes comeback after quad injury, eyes NZ series

Left‑arm pacer Lucy Hamilton, who missed the Bangladesh ODI series due to a quad injury, made her return on Thursday by featuring in the Governor‑General XI match. The 27‑year‑old bowler expressed optimism about her fitness during a post‑match interview.

“Seeing Lucy back on the pitch was fantastic. The more she bowls, the sharper she becomes,” Molenkamp said. Hamilton’s revival adds depth to the pace attack as Australia approaches the New Zealand T20 series.

Her form will be weighed against Megan Shutt, who claimed ten wickets at an average of seven in the Bangladesh ODIs, creating a competitive selection battle for the third‑seamer role.
