Lord's Stadium Observes Silence in Memory of Ahmedabad Plane Crash Victims During WTC Final

June 12th marked a tragic day in Indian history following an Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. Reports indicate that approximately 242 lives were lost in the incident. The flight, which originated from Ahmedabad Airport, was en route to London Gatwick Airport. In a show of solidarity and respect, the iconic Lord's stadium, host to the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) Final between Australia and South Africa, observed a minute of silence. Australian batsmen Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon were at the crease at the start of the third day's play. Players from both teams also wore black armbands as a mark of mourning.
