Late Drama at Fatorda: FC Goa and Delhi Share the Spoils

Late drama unfolded at Fatorda on Wednesday as FC Goa and Sporting Club Delhi played out a thrilling 1-1 draw in the Indian Super League, with the decisive moment arriving in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

The match appeared to be heading towards a Delhi win after Juan Pena struck in the 52nd minute. His right-footed finish followed a rapid counter-attack, in which Rodriguinho found him with a well-timed pass.

Goa, however, were not finished. Their pressure intensified as the game entered its final stages. In the first minute of stoppage time, a Delhi defensive error gave Alex Vallejo an opening, but his cross was not converted.

Moments later, Vallejo was in the right place again. Fuylasier's dangerous free kick into the box caught the defence unprepared, and Vallejo ran onto it to score in front of the goalkeeper, rescuing a point for his side.

The first half had seen plenty of action. Samsanga went close in the eighth minute, and a Goa forward thought he had scored in the 19th minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Nemil's first-time touch in the 37th minute opened up a chance, though his effort sailed over the crossbar.

After half-time, Nora Fernandes stood tall for Delhi, saving well from Fuylasier inside the six-yard box.

The final whistle confirmed a shared point, leaving the match finely poised in an encounter that Delhi will feel they let slip.
