Kranti Gaur’s Bowling Action Compared to Mohammed Shami, Says Nagrajnan
In a recent interview, former Indian fast bowler Niranjana Nagrajnan drew a parallel between Kranti Gaur’s bowling mechanics and those of veteran pacer Mohammed Shami. She noted that Kranti’s run‑up is “flawless” and leaves little room for error, allowing her to focus on delivering the ball at the optimal length.
Nagrajnan recalled spotting Kranti during Madhya Pradesh’s domestic one‑day triumph and immediately sensing her potential to represent India.
“The similarity to Shami’s action is evident, but Kranti adds her own elegance,” Nagrajnan said.
She also commended the cricket board’s decision to revive the multi‑day domestic circuit, explaining that it has helped nurture the patience essential for Test cricket.
Alongside bowler praise, Nagrajnan lauded Yastika Bhatia’s landmark century at Lord’s, emphasizing how both players have become symbols of the growing depth in Indian women’s cricket.
