Kirti Azad Threatens to Raise Adult Advertisement Issue in Parliament

Kirti Azad, representing the Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha, said on the IANS platform that the adult ad displayed during the live broadcast of the India‑England T20 placed parents in an uncomfortable position and left young viewers confused. He questioned the impact such material could have on the developing minds of children and demanded answers from the BCCI. Azad also pointed out the inconsistency that, while alcohol and tobacco promotions are banned on Indian television, an adult‑focused ad was permitted during a sporting event. He stated that if the board fails to address the lapse, he will take the matter to the Parliament for a thorough discussion.
