Khachanov Upsets Oger‑Eliasson in Men's Singles

Russia’s Karen Khachanov delivered a surprise on Day 2 of the men’s singles draw, eliminating second seed Felix Oger‑Eliasson in straight sets, 6‑3, 6‑3. The upset mirrored Khachanov’s earlier triumph over the same Swede at the U.S. Open, where he also won in the second round.

Khachanov’s aggressive baseline play and precise serving left Oger‑Eliasson unable to find a rhythm, resulting in a dominant performance. The win propels the Russian further into the tournament and adds another high‑profile victory to his recent form.

Meanwhile, other first‑round results included Arthur Gea (France) defeating China’s Zhang Zhijian 6‑4, 6‑3, and in the women’s draw, China’s Yuan Yue overcoming Ukraine’s Oleksandra Olijnikova 6‑2, 6‑3, with Bai Zhuoxuan also winning 6‑2, 6‑3 against the Czech Republic’s Linda Fruhvortova.
