Yashasvi Jaiswal’s limited ODI exposure could raise pressure, warns Yuvraj

Yuvraj Singh, a former Indian international, cautioned that Yashasvi Jaiswal’s sporadic appearances in One Day Internationals might translate into heightened anxiety during the forthcoming ICC Men's World Cup. Singh pointed out that despite posting a stellar 71.00 average and scoring two hundreds in just six ODIs, Jaiswal has not secured a permanent spot in the squad.

The ex‑batter emphasized that selection decisions made without sufficient game time can backfire when a tournament demands consistent performance. Recalling the selection dilemmas of the 2019 World Cup, Singh underscored the importance of preparing reserve players well in advance.

He concluded that if Jaiswal is earmarked as part of India’s World Cup strategy, the board must grant him more opportunities to fine‑tune his skills ahead of the event.
